During the night-long event, artists and thinkers from Kolkata, Paris, Madrid, Berlin and Montréal, together with Santhal actors, dancers and musicians both showcased in situ performances and evolve in stimulative conversations about art and thought. The night-long program ended with a joyful multicultural dance party.

The 1st session courses in July 2014 was given by Yazel Parra Nahmenes from Barcelona Theatre Institute (Spain), Jean-Frédéric Chevallier and Sukla Bar Chevallier from Trimukhi Platform; the 2nd session in December 2014 by Utsarjana Mutsuddi and Sanmoy Karmakar from Jadavpur University, Kolkata (India). The 3rd session was held in May 2015 and the 4th in October.

  • Night of Theatre n°8The Night of Theatre n°8 was held on 14th Feb 2015 at Trimukhi Cultural Centre in the Santal tribal village of Borotalpada (West Midnapore, West Bengal, India). During the night-long event, artists from La Habana, Paris, Kolkata and Mexico city, together with tribal actors, dancers and musicians showcased in different places around and inside Trimukhi Cultural Centre, theatre, music and dance performances as well as a double sound installation and happenings. For this 8th edition, a reduced number of guests audience from Kolkata was received so to favor exchange and dialogue with the villagers. The program ended with a multicultural dance party. The bus returned at 5:45 AM.

  • Noche de Teatro / Night of Theatre / Nuit du Théâtre # 07

    The 7th edition of the Night of Theatre took place on 15th February 2014 at Trimukhi Cultural Centre. Artists from Paris, Bogotá, Kolkata, Mexico city and Borotalpada village presented outside the Centre theatre, dance and music performances as well as an experimental film. Two of these stage works were the result of a 12 days rehearsals process together with 15 villagers. Journalist Mohua Das reported the event for The Telegraph: "There was something magical about making one’s way through the backwoods with torchlights and settling down on the ground under the open skies, feeling the caress of a wintry breeze and watching performances in the dark — imaginative and untamed."

  • Visions of the land in India (by marc hatzfeld)Visions of the land in India: Approach of an anthropological survey is an online workshop offered by Professor Marc Hatzfeld, a French anthropologist working on social and urban issues whose recent work encompasses India. Designed and based on Moodle tools, pedagogy will alternate between guided discussions with suggested readings and a direct and concreat engagement of the participants with the ‘vision of land’ through interviews of key respondents. The objective is to introduce ‘land’ to the learners through an anthropological lens and provide an understanding of the lived experiences of it.

  • ARTS AND SENSATIONS / analysis of a processFrom 16th March 2013 to 13th April 2013, MACE and Trimukhi Platform organize in Kolkata a 5 days certificate course on Arts and sensations (5 sessions of 3 hours each Saturday morning). The programme, designed by Jean-Frédréic Chevallier, is directed to  artists, critical analysts and students of arts.   • LIGHT and SIGHT 2 / creative photographyIn January 2013, Trimukhi Platform invited the Mexican artist Alejandro Orozco to give the second part of his workshops on creative photography in the tribal Santal village of Borotalpada (cf. Light & Sight 1). This second course moved onto an even more creative terrain where the participants were invited to imagine, foreseeing an image even before being taken. They explored how to pass from what they think, what they can describe, to what they can get from their relationship with the camera, the body, the light and the space. A certain under-control experience that still was about discovering.

  • 6th Night of TheatreThe sixth edition of the Night of Theatre was held in West Bengal, Indiaon 9th February 2013, at the Cultural Centre that Trimukhi Platform has been building in the Santal village of Borotalpada. It involved theatre, dance, music, installation, photo exhibition and a video projection. Artists from India, Europe and Latin America were rehearsing together with painters, photographers, dancers, musicians and actors from the tribal area to prepare the 12 works to be shared in situ during the night long festival.

  • CREATURES of FLESH & PAPER / double workshop

    In December 2012, Trimukhi Platform invited a visual artist and an actress from Colombia to give a double workshop in the Santal village of Borotalpada. Nathali Buenaventura shared with the participants original drawing techniques and strategies while Paola Ospina leaded them to be as free with their body as if it would be a moving sculpture to be explored. This double workshop was held in the local primary school for 25 children from the Adivhasi area.

  • "Not a just image but just an image"During four Saturdays' morning (10 am. to 1 pm., on 19th and 26th November, 3rd and 10th December 2011), Modern Academy of Continuing Education  and Trimukhi Platform organize in Kolkata, India, cine-club sessions to revisit Jean-Luc Godard's films. In each session a film is introduced, screened and then analysed by Dr. Jean-Frédéric Chevallier. The focus is on the very singular manner Godard has to take and edit motion pictures, to direct actors and to adress directly to the spectators.

  • What to do with the spectators?Proscenium Art Centre organises in Kolkata, in association with Bibhaban and Trimukhi Platform, a theatre workshop to attend the question: what to do with the spectators? This workshop is directed by Jean-Frédéric Chevallier and Supriyo Samajdar. It is divided in two parts: the first one consists in a exploration through contemporary theatre exercises; the second in the preparation of two short stage presentations where a special attention will be given to the spectators.
